Sam and Heidi were blessed with a beautiful baby girl on Feb.23rd. She is a doll and the doctor asked Heidi where she stored her because Heidi didn't look big enough to have a 8lb 6oz baby. We are all very happy for them and glad Kiera is here safe and sound.

Well it's been awhile.....All is going well. We are expecting number 9 grandchild any day. Hopefully number 10 will be in the works soon....Elizabeth and Colton are growing like weeds and keeping their parents busy....They are both dolls ...The other kids are also changing every day...I love them all very much... Katie & I went shopping the other day and she got her ears periced....We had fun...Kenny is home today working on putting pine on the walls of the bedroom... It will be great he has done such a good job on the rest of the house...He is an amazing man with many talents....I'm very blessed....

Well last night all my family came out and gave me my Mothers Day gift... I had told them I didn't need anything but their time and hard work.. So that's what I got.. they all came out and cut branches, picked rocks, pulled stumps and had a rock throwing contest...Which caused a few aches and pains...Marcus took a tumble because of Kenny's driving and Marcus riding a gate....He is OK and the guys got a good laugh about it.... I was blessed to be able to stay in the house and hold the two precious babies.. Colton & Elizabeth... They already have such different personalities....Christian kept us company also inside.. Aw to have his energy and those big blue eyes that tell you everything.... and keep you from getting to mad at him.... We all ate dinner together because everyone brought stuff..... No one left hungry... We are almost ready to plant lawn out by the road now with all the help.... I can never tell you all how blessed I feel to have all my family so close to me and for the joy and happiness they bring into my life.... The Lord knew what he was doing when he sent down all these great people to my life... I am very proud of each one of my children and their families.... Kenny and I would be lost without them...

Well on May 4th 2009 Elizabeth Rose Hammond was born. She weighs 6lbs 11 ozs and is 19 in long. She has the cutest chubby cheeks and all is well with her and her Mom. It a huge blessing. They are home and doing fine. We now have two new little angels to and to Grandmas brag wall.We now have 4 granddaughters and 4 grandsons. I posted stuff on face book on the 4th but forgot to blog. I'm getting more forgetful all the time.I love My family all very much. Here are some pictures from this last few days.

Well along with spring being here means Kenny is working long hours.... He is going to work at about 6:30 am and getting home between 9 and 10 pm....Then listen to this he goes in the bathroom and has been putting tile up in the shower for about an hour.... I wish I had his ambition...He is a good hard working man ....Speaking of good men I am very proud of two of my son in laws that stepped up to the plate this weekend and made life a little easier on their wives... Danny watched Kylee, Alexis and even Colton while Mom, Kimberly and I went shopping on Saturday....He took the kids to the park and had a picnic and even was in a good mood when we got back.. that could of been because of the new fly rod Kim & I bought him for his Bday which isn't until June 29th but he would have no part of letting me take half of it home until his bday... go figure...I had to return to Pocatello later that day because JC Penny forgot to remove some of those cool ink tags from some sweat shirts we bought...any way I called to see if Kate wanted to ride with me and she said she had to much to do and Brian told her to go with me to get out for awhile... We did a little shopping and then got a sushi roll from Fred Meyer... While we were gone Brian had the kids all bathed and the house cleaned,laundry started and was in a good mood and before we left told Kate how beautiful she was... I had a nice day visiting with Kim ,Mom and Kate with out little interruptions... I love those little interruptions but it was nice to visit.... Kenny and I have been blessed with four great son in laws that take very good care of their wives (my daughters)...I am very thankful for all my many blessings.

APRIL? SNOW SHOWERS? BRING MAY FLOWERS?

Well here it is April 14th and we have had a wet snow all day. We need the moisture but rain would be OK. I took today off so I could take Kim to Pocatello to get laser surgery on the veins in her leg that have been bothering her. I hope she will mend fast. Shylo goes into see a ear nose throat specialist tomorrow because she was in the emergency room again this weekend.Kate is going to the doctor 2 to 3 times a week to have stress tests and ultra sounds to make sure her and the baby are OK. Heidi is doing OK right now. Kenny is working long hours. He left at 5:30 and got home at 10:15 last night. The snow today will slow them up a little. For some reason my stress level is coming out in my jaw. It's real sore and my mouth is sore. A lot of good it does to stress and worry about everyone but try and make my self stop seems to be impossible. We had a very good Easter weekend and also celebrated Kim's 26th birthday and Christians 2nd birthday. I have posted a few pictures of it all. Work is going OK but I seem to be making my share of mistakes lately. I need to pull my head out and pay more attention. None of us like to make mistakes but I have gone over board. As my Mom always says "THIS TOO SHALL PASS."

Kim and Danny headed to the hospital at 3am and at 11:04 Colton Dee George came into the world. He weighs 6lb 8oz and is 19 1/4 in long. He is a doll and both he and Kim are doing well. Heidi told Kim she couldn't believe how good she looked for just having a baby. We are glad he is here safe and sound. I am one tired grandma so it's off to bed for now.

Well Shylo keeps telling me I haven't written for awhile so I need to keep up on it. Kenny celebrated his 5oth birthday on the 12th. With Shylos help we decorated his office with black balloons and a prune bouquet and a cake and some banners.Heidi painted the windows on his truck with the BIG 50 and happy birthday and put black balloons in his truck. She also had the coop put HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY KENNY JENSEN withe a picture of the grim reaper on it. I made posters and hung up all over tyhe Coop that said WANTED MY YOUTH BACK and it had a picture of Kenny from our wedding on it. He had a pretty good day except for shocking him self when checking 480 volt power on a motor. It scared him pretty good. I took him out to dinner at the Texas Road house that night. We celebrated Kenny's bday and Brians bday tonight with everyone. Brian's bday is on the 18th. The guys all went ice fishing on saturday at Chesterfield. They had a fun time and all caught fish.The girls and I spent the day together and split up some pancake mix and bisquit mix I had bought. Shylo had her apendix out in the middle of the night on the 7th. She is doing ok now and seems to be healing up ok. She has been having a lot of stomach problems I hope this helps her out. Heidi and Tara Johnson sang in our ward today and Kaylynn played for them. They sang the olive tree. It was very pretty and sounded good. Kim and Kate are both doing ok very pregnant. Kim is due the 15th of April and Kate on June 1st. Kelly is expecting and has been very sick... Kathy said that Wyatt asked Kelly if she was trying to puke the baby out.... what a card... but he is only 4. We are feeling a little spring in the air and it's great. Here are a few pictures from the last little while. Included are the pictures of the great ceder chest my Dad made for me. Mom has been busy making hot pads which I was lucky enough to get some of. We have had a couple eagles in our trees and also Kenny and I went for a ride to the Alpine elk refuge last Saturday...Thats all for now... Ya happy Shylo... Ha Ha

Thunder Snow....

Well we got thunder snow today. This is only the second time in my life that I have ever heard and seen it. It was snowing like crazy and even hailing a little and then we got two loud claps of thunder.. I love thunder storms. February is almost over it's hard to believe. Kenny has had jet lag or something since we got back from our trip. I have got back into the swing of things pretty good but he is struggling. We went to a nice dinner at the Sand Piper the other night thanks to the coop. The girls are doing OK.. Kate has been sick but feels a little better now she has had a few contractions already and that is scary.. she will never make it to her June 1st due date.....Kim is doing OK she went to the doctor and she has dropped some... she too has been having contractions and the doctor wants her to hold off for a few weeks. Her due date is April 15.... Shylo is working full time trying to keep their heads above water until Marcus finds another job or goes to school... Heidi is working a lot but she and Sam have a new experience awaiting them this week. They are going to watch Chris and Jess Barkers kids for 11 day's while they go to Hawaii. They are excited about it and Chris and Jess always treat them very well... We had a surprise 70th birthday lunch yesterday for Mom. Laure Johns set it up , Karen Stringham, Rae Dodge , Kim ,Kate, Shylo,Heidi, Mom,Larue an I were all there. Mom was really surprised ..she said that was the first surprise birthday party she has ever had... Dad has been busy building ceder chests for the Elise, Jenna and now is working on one for me... He does such a great job on them... It's truly something I will treasure... I will post pictures of the party and cedar chest when I get them...mean while here are a couple we had taken on the cruise...

Caribbean Trip

Well we are home safe and sound from the nice warm Caribbean where it was 85 degree flip flop weather to Idaho where we got 4 inches of snow and have to wear a sweater and boots. I wouldn't trade the beautiful Idaho mountains. We got to see a lot of wonderful and neat things.Also we talked to a lot of neat people and meet a lot of people from different countries. We ate real good food, non stop, and if you left the ship hungry or bored you had no one to blame but yourself. We sailed on a ship called The Freedom of the Seas. If you get a chance look at it on the Internet. It is an amazing ship. We sailed from Miami to San Juan Porta Rico then to St Thomas and then to St Maarten. We had some ruff seas the first couple days then beautiful lay out in the sun weather the last few days. Kenny is ready to go right back out he really enjoyed the trip. We had a nice welcome home sign and little we missed you signs in the house when we got home.I took over one thousand pictures but will only post ten.

Winter & Wolverine

Well it is now Feb. 2009, where did Jan. go? The guys went Ice fishing last Saturday and got a few bites but no fish. They had fun and it was a day away. The girls all met out here and scrap booked or sewed. The grand kids built a snowman & played in the snow. They had fun. Kenny & I went for a ride up Wolverine yesterday and saw quite a few deer. It was cool to watch them all. Our big count down is on. We catch the plane to Miami Florida next Saturday and should be on ship by this time next week. We are sailing Freedom of the Seas for Royal Caribbean. We are both really excited. We have everyone coming out tonight except Kim & Danny to have a non super bowl party. We will watch the commericals not of the game. Richard & Jenny are even going to stop by on their way back to Ogden. Kim & Danny went to Caldwell this weekend to visit Danny's sister.

WELL HERE WE ARE AND THE FIRST MONTH OF 2009 IS ALMOST OVER. IT IS GOING WAY TO FAST. WE CELEBRATED JANUARY BIRTHDAYS THE OTHER DAY. ON THE 18TH KENNY'S DAD BUD TURNED 82, SAM TURNED 23 AND ON THE 20TH KATIE TURNED 9. WE HAD A NICE PARTY FOR THEM AND THE PICTURES HERE WERE TAKEN THEN. WE HAVE HAD A NEW PRESIDENT PUT IN THIS WEEK. HIS NAME BARACK OBAMA HE IS OUR FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN PRESIDENT. HE PROMISES GOOD CHANGE WE WILL SEE. OUR COUNTRY IS IN A RECESSION AND PEOPLE ARE SCARED AND UNSURE. WE HAD LAYOFFS AT WORK BLACKFOOT MOTOR WHERE MARCUS WORKS IS CLOSING AND ALLOT OF OTHER PLACES ARE STRUGGLING. SAM STARTED A NEW JOB AT CANNON BUILDERS THIS WEEK BECAUSE THINGS ARE SLOW FOR BRIAN.

This last week was a bad one at work for some. They announced lay off’s companywide and also that they were going to close the Plover plant in 2009. Before Christmas they announced that Shelly plant would be closing some lines. This economy has really been bad; I can only pray that the change that President elect Obahama has promised will help us out of this recession. It is a scary time for all. I was able to keep my job but will take on more responsibilities and have the same pay. I will now have Idaho Falls payroll to do weekly.
Kenny and I are getting very excited for our cruise that we will be going on Feb. 7th. Norm and Leann Bird are going with us. We will fly from Idaho Falls to Salt Lake, then to Atlanta Georgia, to Miami, Florida then boars the Royal Carrabin to San Juan, Porta Rico, St Thomas and St Maartan. It will be a great experience. We have been exercising and tanning to try and get these old bodies somewhat presentable. I am nervous about catching the flights and the weather but to too have faith that things will be ok.
Kenny is a church right now. I started getting sick on Thursday and have a sinus infection and cold. Our weather today is cool & breezy. I’m just starting to get my voice back a little.
The kids all seem to be doing fine. They too have had some colds and the flu but are ok. Kim and Kate’s pregnancies seem to be going ok. They are concerned with Kate somewhat because of all the problems she had last time. I hope it will all go ok. Kylee and Michael started preschool this week. They were both very excited. Shylo is working a lot and still wanting a baby. She is going to try and go to a specialist and see if they can help her carry a baby all the way through. She and Marcus will make good parents when the time comes. Heidi is working full time at Blackers and thinking about a part time job because Sam is on unemployment for the winter.
Grandma Gheen is at the Willows. Her memory is getting worse and she only knew who Mom, Dad, Kenny and I were at Christmas. She gets upset and cries when we go to leave after visits. I can’t imagine how hard it is for her.
Kenny’s parents are doing ok. His mom won’t go out of the house except to feed the cats. His dad is ok he has trouble getting around. He will be 82 on Jan.18th.

Who could believe that 2009 is here all ready. We had a family dinner on New Years day. Everyone brought food and no one left hungry. We played games and had fun visiting. We bought a new fridge and dining room table at Blackers from Heidi on New years day. We gave our old ones to Kate & Brian. Kenny and some other leaders from church took some of the boys up to Skip Yanceys cabin up by Cave Falls outside of Ashton yesterday and spent the night. They did some planning ,dug snow caves and went sledding. I got a early start today and did laundry, plunked on the piano for awhile, and got my lesson prepared. It is cold outside, we had rain yesterday, and tomorrow our high is suppose to be 4 degrees.

Well this year has gone by so very fast.We had a great Christmas and then celebrated Heidi's 20th birthday.We have been very blessed this year. We have had some trials but many good things have taken place also. We really had a white Christmas and the snow has stuck around.Here are a few pictures from the birthday party. We got a little snow this week and allot of wind. We have seen some below zero temps with the wind chills. We need all the snow we can get.

We had Kylee and Alexis the other night and Marcus stopped in and made a really cool linking log house for them.

We are pretty much ready for Christmas. We had a nice dinner over at my work on Friday and then Melanie and I went out and got our visiting teaching done. I have been terrible at it this year. One new years resolution will be to do better on visiting teaching. Today we met Kim, Danny & the girls over at the Coop and the girls ,Danny and Kenny went on a horse drawn wagon ride and also got to see Santa. Kate & Brian took their kids over there this after noon. Kenny and I took a gift out to Doug & Vic today in Moore.
We visited for awhile then went out to Mackay reservoir and looked around and ate lunch in Mackay. We saw 4 deer and over 50 antelope.

It was a nice day and we had fun.

Kenny came home and went over to the coop and got the front end loader and brought it over here to dig the drifts out and also dug the neighbors mail boxes out. Heidi Christine's 20th birthday is the day after Christmas. It's hard to believe that 20 years ago I was telling myself I could not go in to labor because I had three other little girls counting on me to make a good Christmas. They were all very excited when we brought home a new little sister in a Christmas stocking a couple days later. I went an at 8:00 Christmas night and had Heidi at 8:10 the next morning.Better go now I have more laundry to get done.

In just a few short days Christmas will be here. It is crazy how fast this year has gone by. We have all been very blessed.

We celebrated Michales third birthday after Thanksgiving. He got all kinds of neat things and had fun.

This last week was busy but fun. we got some Christmas stuff delivered. Then Monday night we went to Danny's indoor soccer game in Idaho Falls.They had a tie game this week and Danny played, keep at the goal. He did a great job but his elbows and knees had allot of burns on them from the turf. He has two good cheerleaders in Kylee and Alexis. Tuesday night Kenny had young men's and they made gingerbread houses to deliver this next week.Wednesday night we went out to a concert at the Snake River high school because Brian was playing in the orchestra.It was really good and allot of talented people. Kate and the kids sat in the balcony and when the orchestra played songs from Grease I guess Michael put on his own little dance show. He is quite the little dancer.I'm so glad music plays such a big part in their lives. On Thursday night we went to Katie and Nicholas school Christmas program. They did a great job.

Nicholas looked so handsome in his blue shirt and tie,

and Katie got to be the GPS girl to help Santa find his way.The kids are all growing up so fast. I'm glad they all live close to us. I'm sure I would be lost without them.

I am watching Michael and Christian for awhile today so Kate,Brian,Katie & Nichaols can go in and donate service at the Desert Industries for their ward. They st a good example for us all.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgivivg came and went very quickly. All except for the extra weight we all put on by eating so much. We were very blessed to have so much great food and great company. We had all ages there from Grandma Gheen who is 96 to Christian who is 1. Grandma didn't use her walker to much but Christian loved pushing it all around and climbing on it. Grandma Gheen ,my folks, Curt, Diane, Stephen ,Laurie & their kids, Kate, Brian & their kids,Shylo,Marcus,Sam ,Heidi ,Kenny and I were all over to the church to celebrate. Twenty three all together. Kim,Danny and the girls were with the Georges and Richard & Jenny in Idaho Falls with Jennies family. We all met at our house on that night and thanks to Jenny we were able to decorate ginger bread houses.

We had a blast visiting and decorating while Sam, Brian, Marcus, Danny & Kenny all played a game of Risk, which Kenny won. Kathy & Bob spent their day looking for a friend of Bobs who got lost while hunting. Thankfully he was found and was ok. Kathy said they will have their T-day on friday. Kylee and Alexis spent t-day night with us so Kim and Danny could go shopping at 4:00 am for all the good Black Friday sales. The girls were really good .

Married for 29 years.....WOW

Well we just celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary. Time has really gone by fast. We went to Jackson Hole Wyoming on Saturday and spent the night at Snow King lodge.

We had fun walking around Jackson and looking at all the expensive things they have to offer. Like fur and leather coats for the rich and famous or art that you couldn't pay me to hang in my house. Granted I would like the chance to walk in to the stores and not look at the price and just buy it because I like it.

Targee has snow but Jackson is running their snow making machines trying to get some snow. We drove outside of Jackson to take some pictures of the Tetons

and saw 18 bull elk all together. They were all 5&6 point bulls.

It was cool to watch them. We also saw some swans.

We stopped at Swan Valley and had one of the famous square Ice Cream cones. It was beautiful weather.

In talking with my Mom and Dad last night we came up with the idea to go on a cruise in July 2010 to Alaska.We would like Kathy,Bob,Stephen,Laurie,Richard,Jenny,Mom,Dad Kenny and I all to go. I really would like to get this to come true. I hope everyone will start saving so we can go. It would be a great trip with all of us.

There are several in the family with bad fall colds. Tis the season. Kenny put up a TV in the exercise room today, and I did the normal laundry. Kenny also took my car to Idaho Falls to have some warranty work done,I stayed here and had an insulin blood test run along with cholesterol and tyroid.I would like to get off some of this medicine I'm on. We had a beautiful weather day today. Well hope all is well with everyone.

Well here it is Nov. 2008. Time is flying by so fast. Kenny and Norm went back out hunting with no luck but had a good time and enjoyed hunting season.

I went to Odgen yesterday with Mom and Dad.We went for Quinns baptism. Stephen, Laurie and the kids were there also.It was great to see everyone.It was a very nice day and we had a great lunch at Richard and Jennys after. The weather was great.

We had a good Halloween also.Allot of cute and scary kids. I had the grand kids and The Barkers as my only trick or treaters.

We got family pictures taken of the Hammonds and Georges , I need to get the Olers and Gardners to hold still for some too.

Heidi and Sam spent the weekend moving in to their new house.I'm sure they will enjoy having their own home. Shylo and Marcus spent the weekend with the Oler family for Marcus's Grandma Hebbdon's funereal. Alexis has a ear infection and sinus infection poor little duck. Kate has a bad cold also I guess it is the season. We got some much needed rain last night and today. Added We vote for a next president of the United States this week. I know the one I definitely don't want in and the other is questionable.

A beautiful Day...

Well it was a beautiful day for Oct.28. I worked then came home and mowed the lawn one of my favorite things to do,then went on a 4 mile bike ride. Then did another favorite thing by setting on my swing on the front porch and doing a crossword puzzle.Richard Jenny and the kids came and visited this weekend it was great to see them.

We got all the apples picked on the weekend also we got about 600lbs this year.

Kenny got back from hunting and was empty handed but he and Norman had a great time.
They always have fun and have good stories to tell when they get back. They will go back out this weekend for one last try.

Marcus's Grandma Hebbdon died last night. She was a very sweet lady and will be missed.She has left behind many great people,but Shylo said she is now taking care of all the little ones in heaven.
Mom,Dad & I are going to Ogden this weekend because Quin will get baptized.Well thats it for today.

Trials.....

Shylo had a miscarrage last night.It is so hard on her. This is her fourth one. The Lord must have different plans for her and Marcus. She is a strong young lady and I know she will be ok but I feel helpless not knowing what I can do for her. So I ask you all to keep her in your prayers. Kim was hooked up to and IV yesterday she has been throwing up alot with the pregnancy. Kate seems to be doing ok busya as ever....
Heidi made cookies this last week and delivered them to many people. She is a sweetheart.Kenny is out trying to slay the elk for the year...

Well Mom and Dad closed up the cabin and are home for the winter. We got a snow storm here in the valley, so they decided not to push there luck in the mountians. It is hard for them to close things up but they had a great summer there.

They are Mom and Dad to Kathy,Stephen,Ricahrd & I, But Grandma & Grandpa to Kaylynn,Kim,Shylo,Heidi,Paul,Benny,Elise,Matthew,Jenna,Peter, Erica, Austin & Quniten,and also Great Grandma & Grandpa to Katie,Nicholas,Michael,Christen,Kylee,Alexis,Wyatt & Ayvah.
I'm glad we live so close to Mom and Dad. My children and grandchildren also love to be close. Kim brought out one of her great lasagnas last night for dinner and then Danny & Kenny laid down some gym floor in the excerise room and then put up the our new Bow Flex. Kenny and I are going to try and get in shape for our cruise. We will see if that happens. We appricate Danny's help and Kim's good food. Kim called a little while ago and was very upset with Alexis, because she took a green and blue marker and wrote on their new furniture and carpet which wasn't scotch gaurded yet. Lexy Lu some day they will look back and laugh but not yet... Kate Brian and the kids spent the day in Rexburg with Brians family for a baptisam, Shylo picked 4 buckets of tomatoes before they froze out to Olers. Mom ,Dad Kate,Shylo,Heidi & I took flowers out to Grandma Hopkins grave site tonight it would of been her birthday today.Well it is snowing again outside.This will set potato harvest back a little. We are suppose to be cold for a few day's.

Well I guess I will give this a try. I really enjoy Kim's page so I am going to try this myself. I have always been real good at keeping a journal, except for the last couple of years. I don't know what has changed. I just don't take the time to write and more. I want my family to know how much I love them, they are my life. I don't know what I would do without them. My girls their husbands and my precious grandchildren, which will be added to in the next 9 months. Your Dad and I are headed into a new direction for us. We have had children in our home for 28 years and have centered our lives around them. Now we find ourselves trying to get to know each other again and see if we have any thing in common. We have a fun cruise planned in Feb. 2009 but for now we just go to work come home and run in to each other in passing. I guess we need to put some effort into this new phase to make it work. We are the parents of KayLynn Jensen Hammond born May 11 1980, Kimberly Jensen George born March 24 1983, Shylo Rose Jensen Oler born May 4 1986, and Heidi Christine Jensen Gardner born Dec.26 1988. They have each married wonderful young men. KayLynn wed Brian Earl Hammond and they at present have 4 children Katherine Karen Hammond, Nicholas Earl Hammond, Michael Ralph Hammond & Christian Alexander Hammond. Kimberly wed Daniel Craig George and they have two children Klyee Jean George , Alexis Marie George & one on the way. Shylo wed Darrell Marcus Oler and they have one on the way. Heidi wed Samuel Joseph Gardner . T0 my great joy they all still live locally. I don't want to forget Max dog he has been with us for ten years.Well thats it for today..... It's a start.....
